Politics
The word that everyone
generally hates, but we still have to discuss it. Real Clear Politics is
great at showing you the polls, but do they discuss it? Do they dig into the
truth and share with the World Wide Web?
An important goal we
have in mind is separating the truth from reality.
The Truth
- Winners be rich, losers be poor.
The politicians that win
the election generally have more money for the ones that lost or dropped out.
The money used for the campaign is used in advertisements mainly.
Advertisements can be expensive so the one that can spend more money on
advertisements will be noticed by people more. Therefore, they will vote for
the one they remember on TV and not the one they have barely heard of. Scott
Walker dropped out the Republican Primary because he ran out of money. If he
had the money, there could be a possibility that his values are the primary
things we need in the U.S.A. I am not for or against Scott Walker or Republicans,
it was just an example. The point is the more money you have, the better off
you are as a candidate.
Another argument could
be presidents that are inherently rich might give the rich a tax break. The
president cannot create the bill, but he can sign the bills Congress passes. If
Congress wanted to pass a bill but the president didn't sign it, Congress would
have to debate again. Congress is also corrupt from the salaries
they receive.
There was a study that
group found that you can pick the candidate that won by the looks.
The study used state elections and asked people on the street who won the
election. The people that were asked didn't know who
the candidates were or what state they were from. They were only
given two pictures to choose from. The study found that the people chose the
winners by going off their looks.
One Vote, Real Vote
Now that I took you
through some of the truths, try to look behind what the media is telling you.
The media is made up of gossip, drama, and propaganda. So before you make
judgments, try to find the real truth. You only get one chance to find the
candidate that should get it. If you choose someone different than others
around you, that’s okay because you have a reason to.
Choose wisely.
